The Affinity Water - Water Saving Challenge is open to registered customers aged 18+ within the Affinity Water region (excluding employees and their families). No purchase is necessary.
The promotion runs in rolling cycles. Participants select a water-saving goal — Bronze, Silver, or Gold — and track weekly progress to earn prize draw entries. Bonus entries can be earned through a Spin-the-Wheel game upon meeting targets.
Winners are notified by email and must respond within a week to claim their prize. Personal data is used solely for administering the promotion. The promotion is governed by English law.
Glossary of Terms
1. Promotional Cycle: The defined period during which a participant is engaged in an ongoing Water Saving Challenge.
2. Challenge Tier: Participants are classified into tiers based on their water-saving targets:
- Gold – 50% reduction in water usage.
- Silver – 35% reduction in water usage.
- Bronze – 20% reduction in water usage.
3. Challenge Period: A 4-week duration in which participants track their water-saving progress for prize draw entries.
4. Water-Saving Target: The percentage reduction in water usage participants aim to achieve weekly based on past data.
5. Spin The Wheel: A bonus game for participants who meet their targets, offering extra prize draw entries.
6. Further Tracking Period: A 1-week period after the Challenge Period for submitting outstanding tracking data.
7. Sign-Up Period: The window in which participants can register for a Promotion Cycle.
8. Sign-Up Start Date: The first day participants can register for the Promotion Cycle.
9. Sign-Up End Date: The final day for participants to register. Late entries will be redirected to the next cycle if available.
10. Prize Draw Date: The date winners are randomly selected.
11. Prize Draw Announcement Date: The day winners are notified. Winners must respond within a specified time to claim their prize.
1. Eligibility
1.1 The promotion is open to registered customers of Affinity Water Limited, within Affinity Water's water supply region, who are aged 18 or over, except for employees of Affinity Water Limited, their immediate families, households, and anyone directly associated with the administration of the promotion.
1.2 There is no entry fee, and no purchase is necessary to participate in the promotion.
1.3 Each Unique ID is identified by email and postcode, and both are required for entry into the promotion.
1.4 A maximum of one Unique ID can be associated per household, per Promotion Cycle.
1.5 Affinity Water Limited accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault of any kind or for any other reason.
2. Promotion Cycle
2.1 The overall promotion period starts on 27 March 2025 at 00:01 and will consist of separate Promotional Cycles. The dates of each Promotion Cycle are outlined in the table in paragraph 2.5, each consisting of the following:
- Sign-Up Start Date: The date and time when sign-ups open for that Promotion Cycle.
- Sign-Up End Date: The date and time when sign-ups close. This ensures participants have enough time to complete all tasks before the Prize Draw Date.
- Prize Draw Date: The date when the prize draw takes place.
- Prize Draw Announcement Date: The date when winning participants are informed of their win and given instructions on how to claim their prize.
2.2 Any entrants who attempt to sign up after the Sign-Up End Date will not be able to participate in that Promotional Cycle and will be directed to enter into the next Promotion Cycle, if available.
2.3 During each Promotion Cycle, the Challenge Period will consist of a four (4) week period starting from the participant's sign-up date during the Sign-Up Period. Participants are invited to build a challenge plan, complete challenges, and track their progress to earn Prize Draw entries, with opportunities to win prizes as set out in paragraph 4.
2.4 There will be a Further Tracking Period of one (1) week immediately following the Challenge Period to allow participants to finalize and submit any outstanding water usage tracking data.
2.5 The start and end dates for each Promotional Cycle, Sign-Up Period, and Prize Draw Dates are outlined in the table below:

2.6 Affinity Water Limited reserves the right to amend, modify, or cancel any of these dates at its sole discretion.
3. Sign-Up Process
3.1 New Participants: Those who have not previously completed Affinity Water's water-saving quiz, which can be found on www.mywaterfootprint.affinitywater.co.uk, will be required to do so as part of the sign-up process.
3.2 During the quiz, participants will be asked to provide their email address and postcode.
3.3 Upon completing the water-saving quiz, participants will be required to select a Challenge Tier, which corresponds to a level of difficulty and assigns a unique numerical water-saving target (in litres) for each participant during the Challenge Period. The available tiers are as follows:
- Gold Tier (50% water saving) over the Challenge Period
- Silver Tier (35% water saving) over the Challenge Period
- Bronze Tier (20% water saving) over the Challenge Period
3.4 Returning Participants: Those who have previously completed the water-saving quiz will be prompted to enter their email, and in some cases their postcode to retrieve their results. They may also retake the quiz if they believe their water usage habits have changed since their last participation.
4. Routes to Entry and Prize Allocation
4.1 Challenge Plan Development: After completion of the Sign-up Process, participants will be invited to create a challenge plan. This plan will consist of selected water-saving challenges (as set out in paragraph 4.3) that align with their chosen Challenge Tier to help them achieve their target for the Challenge Period.
4.2 Challenge Availability: The challenges available to Participants will depend on their responses to the water-saving quiz, therefore some of the challenges may not be relevant and therefore unavailable for selection.
4.3 The available Challenges are as follows:
- Collect rainwater for gardening using a water butt.
- Reuse leftover kettle water to water houseplants.
- Water plants with a watering can instead of a hose.
- Use a trigger nozzle on your hosepipe.
- Run the dishwasher only when full and on eco mode.
- Scrape plates before washing instead of rinsing under running water.
- Wash dishes in a bowl rather than under a running tap.
- Clean recyclables using dishwashing water.
- Wash or peel vegetables in a bowl instead of under a running tap.
- Run the washing machine only when full and use the ECO setting.
- Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth.
- Fill the bath slightly less than usual.
- Shorten your shower by 2 minutes.
- Use the half-flush button on your toilet.
- Turn off the shower while lathering.
4.4 An “Achieving a Water-Saving Target” will also be set as part of the challenge plan.
4.5 In order to earn entries into the Prize Draw, participants must track their progress with the challenges on a weekly basis during the Challenge Period using Affinity Water Limited’s challenge webtool.
4.6 Weekly tracking submissions can be backdated but cannot be recorded in advance. Tracking submissions will close at the end of the Further Tracking Period.
4.7 Participants can earn one entry into the Prize Draw per challenge completed, earning up to a maximum of six entries per Promotion Cycle.
4.8 Bonus Entries via Spin the Wheel: Participants who achieve the "Achieving a Water-Saving Target" task will unlock a chance to spin a wheel for Bonus Entries into the Prize Draw as set out in paragraph 5.2 ("Spin the Wheel Game").
5. Spin the Wheel Game:
5.1 Each spin of the wheel in the Spin the Wheel Game will randomly (see paragraph 5.3 for possible wheel outcomes and multiplier chances) award participants who achieve the "Achieving a Water Saving Target" Bonus Entries into the Prize Draw.
5.2 Eligible participants for the Spin the Wheel Game will earn spins of the wheel depending on the Challenge Tier entered:
- Gold Tier participants will earn 3 spins of the wheel.
- Silver Tier participants will earn 2 spins of the wheel.
- Bronze Tier participants will earn 1 spin of the wheel.
5.3 Spin the Wheel Outcomes and Multiplier Probability: The probability distribution for multiplier outcomes for each spin of the wheel is as follows:
- 1 in 9 chance of earning 4 Bonus Entries
- 1 in 9 chance of earning 3 Bonus Entries
- 1 in 9 chance of earning 2 Bonus Entries
- 6 in 9 chance of earning 1 Bonus Entry
6. Prizes
The winners for each Prize Draw will be selected at random via an automated computerised program under the supervision of an Affinity Water Limited colleague not connected to the organisation of the prize draw, on the Prize Draw Date from all valid entries achieved for that Promotion Cycle.
6.1 Specific prizes and the number of possible winners will be determined and communicated at the start of each Promotion Cycle.
6.2 All prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and no cash alternative is available.
6.3 Affinity Water Limited reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value should it become necessary.
6.4 The decision of Affinity Water Limited regarding any aspect of the Prize Draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
7. Notification and Prize Fulfilment
7.1 Winners of each Prize Draw will be notified via email within two weeks on the Prize Draw Announcement Date.
7.2 Winners will be required to supply either their Affinity Water Customer reference number, or if unavailable, their corresponding email address connected to their Affinity Water account to prove their eligibility for the Prize. This information must be provided within one week of notification to claim their Prize. The winner’s failure to respond within this time frame will result in forfeiture of the prize, and Affinity Water Limited reserves the right to select an alternate winner.
7.3 Prizes will be delivered to the winner’s address / email (depending on the nature of the prize) within 30 to 90 days of confirming their eligibility as set out in paragraph 7.2. It is the responsibility of the winner to provide accurate contact and delivery details.
7.4 Affinity Water Limited accepts no responsibility for any prize that is lost, delayed, or damaged during delivery.
7.5 In some instances, participants will be required to supply their Mobile number for Prize Fulfilment.
8. Data Protection
8.1 By entering the promotion, participants agree to the collection and use of their personal data (email address and postcode) solely for the purposes of administering the promotion.
8.2 All personal information collected from participants in connection with this promotion will be used solely to administer and execute the promotion. This information will not be used for marketing, promotional, or advertising purposes beyond the scope of this promotion, nor will it be shared with third parties for such purposes.
8.3 Personal data collected during the course of this promotion will be processed in accordance with Affinity Water Limited’s Privacy Notice and in compliance with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the data retention period.
8.4 In compliance with legal obligations, Affinity Water will make available information that indicates that a valid award took place upon request. To comply with this obligation Affinity Water will send the surname and the first part of their postcode (e.g., AL10) to anyone who emails campaigns@affinitywater.co.uk or writes to: Brand and Marketing Team, Affinity Water Limited, Tamblin Way, Hatfield, AL10 9EZ (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within 1 (one) month of each Prize Draw Date.
8.4.1 If a request for winner information is received, Affinity Water will contact the winner(s) to seek their consent before disclosing their details. Winners have the right to object to the disclosure, in which case their information will not be provided.
9. General
9.1 Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry.
9.2 Affinity Water Limited reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award a prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
9.3 Affinity Water Limited reserves the right to hold, void, cancel, suspend, or amend the promotion where necessary.
10. Liability
10.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, Affinity Water Limited, its agents, or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate participants or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury incurred by participants or winners, except where it is caused by negligence of Affinity Water Limited, its agents, or distributors.
10.2 Your statutory rights are not affected by these terms.
