Working with schools and pupils to save water

We've launched a school programme across the Affinity Water region as part of our water-saving mission.

We're working with educational specialists, We Are Futures and the National Schools Partnership to provide primary schools with water-saving education materials. This will help pupils understand the importance of saving water and inspire them to make everyday changes to leave more in the local environment.

Our water‑saving curriculum

Across all 500 schools within the Affinity Water region, we will:

  • Help pupils learn more about saving water and how everyone can play a part in protecting our chalk streams.
  • Equip teachers with complete toolkits to use in lessons and assemblies to educate children on why it’s important to save water.
  • Host an exciting poster competition where schools could win a water-saving garden up to the value of £5,000, with runners up receiving £500 for their water-saving efforts.
  • Inspire pupils to think of new ways to save water by providing every participating school with a free water butt.

You can also download the Take-Home pack from our education toolkit for yourself!
