2. River Colne: Colney Heath South Circular

This route takes an average of 1h 21min to complete. For a peaceful walk away from the city, try the Colney Heath Circular Walk along the River Colne and Albans Lakes. This gentle path takes you through woods, meadows, and along the river. This is a very popular area for birding, fishing and hiking, so you’ll be sure to see lots of people on route – and make sure you look out for wildlife and birds! Along the route is Willows Activity Farm, where you can stop for a fun visit with the family – and even visit their Pumpkin Festival!
